The 3 Garage Sale Thrifting Hacks that helped me make $100s #thrifting

This week, We are heading to some garage sales!

I have recently been trying new methods for sourcing and wanted to give some pointers for garage sales! The first and most obvious bit of advice is to arrive early! You wouldn’t believe how much literal (and figurative) gold gets bought up in the first few minutes!!

But, let’s talk about some of the less obvious techniques that can give you an edge up in your searches. This is going to sound crazy, but I actually look for listings that seem rushed/lazy. My reason for this has to do specifically with price points.

People host Garage Sales for many reasons, and post covid, some sellers have been using eBay listings for their price references. Many are also hosting multi-weekend sales where there is no room to negotiate price. I personally do not go to Garage Sales to pay the prices that are associated with a service, which includes insurance, chat support, refunds, etc. So, I tend to go after the blurry photo listings, where I know the seller is going to set fair/reasonable prices.

Lastly, you need to really search your area! Some weekends, all the best listings are on CL, and then other weeks, it is FB and Yelp. If anyone knows of additional forums to locate these sales, please drop them in the comments below so others can learn from you!!

Have you ever had luck at a garage sale and found an insane deal? I would love to hear about your experiences below 💛
