This week, I found gold, silver & real gemstones inside of a shed I saw advertised on Craigslist!
Now, that may sound like the start of a true crime novel, but it’s actually what I spent last Friday doing 😅🤣 I always recommend you exercise caution when using a site like CL, but I have found some incredible items from sales advertised on there.
When I got to the shed, it was far more massive than I ever expected. I spent the next few hours methodically sorting through all the fun costume jewelry they had and found so many fun pieces!
Everything from native sterling/gemstone earrings sets to an intricate floral sterling bracelet and even 10K tie pins! The seller wanted $25, which was more than reasonable. I know some folks will tell you that you “should always” try to bargain with sellers, but I take a slightly different approach. This was my first time buying from this person, and I would like to build some rapport with them.
They were kind enough to let me dig for several hours, take some film shots for my channels, and in return, I left the jewelry much more organized than how it was when I got to it! This gentleman had warehouses full of stuff, so he doesn’t necessarily have the free time that someone like myself does to dig through all that jewelry and pick out the value. I have learned over the years to seek these kinds of dealers out, as they typically have the best prices for my current margins.
I did travel a bit of a distance for this sale, and I recommend that if you are looking for the kinds of deals you see me finding, you do the same. There are MANY days that I drive an hour+ to buy absolutely nothing. I don’t really post about it, but trust me, that it happens often!! Thrifting is a game of luck and consistency. So get out there and save those treasures!
Have you ever found a good item from a Craigslist sale? I would love to hear your thoughts down below 💛
P.S. please excuse my raspy voice this week, I am getting over a cold 😅
