Just thought I’d pass on a couple more tips for selling stuff on Marketplace or Craigslist…or where ever you sell online. Pricing has to be a large enough discount to make it worth it for the potential buyer to make the drive, spend the time and gas money to make the purchase. But, on higher cost items the overall percentage discount can be much less because the overall dollar amount is much higher…think at 20% discount on a $500 item is $100..that may be worth the drive across town. Where as a 20% discount on a $20 item is only $4…most people wouldn’t walk across the street for that, so the percentage discount will need to higher…probably at least 50%, maybe more depending on distance and the item’s condition.
