My husband came home with a huge book haul when it WASN’T even a yard sale day. Then he brought home a HUGE DVD and CD haul from a single yard sale, and now we have a whole lot of books, movies, and music to go through!
Welcome to our genx life of thrift hauls, yard sale finds, and the unpredictable adventure of building a different kind of life in our 40s.
In this video, you’ll see two unexpected hauls: a surprise collection of 10 boxes of books and a massive DVD and CD haul from one yard sale. We’ll be sorting through our finds, deciding what we want to keep, and figuring out what might deserve a second life with someone else. And with October here, there might even be a few spooky reads in the mix!
Life doesn’t always go according to plan, but sometimes the unexpected turns into a pretty good adventure. We’re a Gen X couple figuring things out as we go, chasing new dreams, enjoying a little nostalgia, and proving that life doesn’t have to be predictable and stagnant in middle age.
And before you go, there’s something else I want to talk about…
**Is it too late to start over in your 40s?** I’m sharing more about that in an upcoming video, and it’s a conversation I think a lot of us need to have. If you’ve ever wondered whether it’s too late to change direction, chase a dream, or build a life that feels more like YOU, stay tuned.
We’d love to hear from you in the comments!
What’s the best thing you’ve ever found at a yard sale? And do you still collect DVDs, CDs, or physical books, or have you moved entirely to digital?
If you’re into Gen X life, thrift hauls, yard sale treasures, vintage finds, nostalgia, and the messy, funny reality of reinventing yourself after 40, you’re in the right place.
