Chelsea striker Mia Fishel says she has had “successful surgery” after tearing her anterior cruciate knee ligament in February.
The USA forward suffered the injury while training with her country for the Concacaf W Gold Cup.
Fishel, 22, joined Chelsea on a three-year deal in August from Mexican top-flight side Tigres.
Before tearing her ACL, Fishel had made 10 Women’s Super League appearances this season.
Writing on X, she said: “I’d like to thank my management and medical teams for a successful surgery today. I want to thank the United States national team and Chelsea for their unwavering support during this critical time.
“Exciting projects for 2024 are on the way and I look forward to sharing a more personal side of Mia.”
On Sunday, the United States won the inaugural Concacaf W Gold Cup with a 1-0 win over Brazil in the final in San Diego.
